Lecithin (phosphatidylcholine) is a structural element of the membranes of various cells. Phosphatidylcholine is a part of lipoproteins such as chylomicron, LDL and HDL, which carry dietary fat and transport them to various tissues.
Dietary fat incorporated into phospholipids such as lecithin are used for eicosanoid synthesis.
